Using the theme editor

Everything in Opaline is set up in the Shopify theme editor, without code: sections, blocks, templates and theme settings.

Open the editor#

Go to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify admin.
Click Customize next to Opaline.

The three areas of a page#

Area	What it holds
Header	The announcement bar and the header. They appear on every page.
Template	The sections of the page you are editing. Each template — home, product, collection, page — has its own.
Footer	The footer. It appears on every page.

Sections and blocks#

Add a section: click Add section in the sidebar and pick one from the list. Each section is documented under Sections.
Add a block: inside a section, click Add block. Blocks are the repeatable parts of a section — slides, questions, testimonials.
Reorder: drag a section or block by its handle.
Hide without deleting: click the eye icon next to it.
Apps: sections that accept app blocks list your installed apps in Add block.

Switch template#

Use the page selector at the top center of the editor to move between the home page, product pages, collections, the cart and other templates. Opaline includes alternate product and collection templates: see Alternate templates.

Theme settings#

Click the paintbrush icon in the left toolbar to open the store-wide settings: colors, typography, layout, product cards and more.

Preview on mobile#

Use the device icons at the top of the editor to switch the preview to mobile. Many Opaline sections have separate mobile settings; see Mobile layouts.

Tip

After a theme update, close the editor and open it again (or reload with ⌘ Shift R) so new settings appear.
